Cynthia Colt

Massage Therapist

Cynthia is a holistic therapist who has studied various bodywork and advanced soft tissue techniques. She is a massage therapist, and infant massage instructor with membership of the Guild of Infant & Child Massage and Birthlight.

She has done additional training in Thai Massage, Hot Stone Fusion, and Massage for Pregnancy. Further training has included Baby Shiatsu with Well Mother & Baby Yoga with Birthlight.

Holistic Massage
Cynthia has a particular interest in using both Eastern & Western techniques in her holistic massage, sensitively applying various massage techniques, and using acupressure points to suit the individual.

Massage can help alleviate and prevent musculoskeletal problems and reduce pain resulting from trauma, overuse, accidents, and poor posture. The relaxing effect associated with massage can help reduce stress & anxiety and so help with a wide range of health problems.

Hot Stone Fusion is a combination of hot volcanic rocks and serious massage. It involves a specialised blend of hot stone massage techniques, which takes hot stone massage one step further, integrating the stone work with a blend of advanced techniques using hands, forearms and knuckles. The result is a unique seamless dance of stonework, energy work and therapeutic massage principles.

Massage and Pregnancy
Acupressure and Massage are powerful tools in supporting women to contact the wisdom of their bodies in pregnancy and childbirth. This sensitive touch helps parents to bond early with their developing child. Specific techniques can be used throughout labour to ease pain and give support. After the birth, working with Mother and Baby can help emotionally and physically with the transition into motherhood.

Baby Chi
Baby Chi classes develop massage, stretching, holding and acupressure techniques for baby as well as stretching and relaxing for parents or carers. It includes massage, Shiatsu and yoga techniques. These techniques work to support our bodies 'chi' or 'prana', which we can think of variously as our breath, respiration, life force, vitality or strength.

Classes offer a holistic approach to help support baby's physical, emotional and mental development. It also incorporates information & discussion about ways of promoting health, including the use of Homeopathic remedies that can help with some of the issues you may face with a new baby.
