Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) (Dr Vodder)

This specialised therapy is a gentle, rhythmic, and structured form of massage based on pumping, circular and spiral movements which encourage the lymph fluid to flow more freely around the body while promoting a deep feeling of relaxation. MLD helps to eliminate waste products and excessive fluid, strengthen the immune system, promote circulation, and can help relieve pain and accelerate the healing process following surgery.


Complete Lymphoedema Therapy (CLT)

The lymphatic system is a network of vessels and nodes transporting fluid (lymph) from tissues back to the bloodstream. Its function is to remove excess fluid and assist the immune system in removing waste products. Lymphoedema is a result of a failure of the lymphatic system causing swelling in body tissue and affecting limbs, trunk, breast, head and neck.

Primary lymphoedema can be present at birth, develop at the onset of puberty, or only become apparent many years into adulthood. Secondary lymphoedema, the most common type, typically develops following damage to the lymphatic system. This may occur as a result of cancer treatment including lymph node removal or radiotherapy to lymph node groups, or with the progression of malignant disease.

Complete Lymphoedema Therapy (CLT) is a holistic multidisciplinary approach designed to control swelling and reduce oedema, minimising the risk of complications such as inflammation, ulcers or immobility. Treatment is individualised for each client and may combine education, skin care, exercise, Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), compression therapy and elastic taping.


Yin Yoga for Lymphatic Health

Yin, a very slow style of yoga, complements MLD in helping to open tight areas, release cording/auxiliary web syndrome and soften scar tissue. This one-to-one session gives space to focus on your body and your well-being with intention and attention, and can also include qigong movements, breathing and deep relaxation techniques.
