Psychotherapy and Supervision
Psychotherapy
I am an accredited Psychotherapist having accredited in 2016 with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
We will work together to form a safe space in which to explore your feelings and thoughts, to form a positive therapeutic relationship where you are able to experience, face and heal what is distancing you from your well-being.
Core Process Psychotherapy, is one of the original mindfulness-based psychotherapy training programs. Buddhist psychology and mindfulness practice underpin this and are integrated with western personality theory, psychodynamics and psychotherapy skills.
Psychotherapy is about how we make sense of the world we are in and how we understand what is happening. We will be engaged in a joint healing process where an awareness of the body, its feelings and feeling tones, thoughts and imaginings are used to explore the nature of selfhood and how to find meaning and wellbeing.
over the last 40 years I have studied and worked with people, exploring philosophy, health and mental health, long term problems arising out of early trauma, abuse, neglect, relationship problems and dealing with loneliness and stress and anxiety, depression and much more.
Psychotherapy Supervision
I offer one-to-one supervision and group supervision. The supervision style I work in is Mindfulness-based; I am familiar with many different modalities, but, what is important is the professional relationship and the appreciation of the mutuality undertaken in the supervision framework.
My supervision is supervised, and also aided and enhanced by the course providers who support and offer clear guidance in issues such as safeguarding, GDPR, ethics etc. This is in addition to my extensive experience and training in one-to-one Edinburgh psychotherapy.
