Clinical & Remedial Massage

Remedial and clinical massage is beneficial for anyone experiencing chronic pain or restriction. Employing a combination of Swedish and deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, direct and indirect myofascial release and stretching, our therapists aim to support recovery from injury and long-term maintenance of wellbeing. This style of massage can help with back, neck and shoulder pain and strain; muscular tension and stress; repetitive strain injury (RSI); pre- and post-sporting aches; restricted flexibility; referred pain.

  • In your initial consultation, your therapist will discuss your individual needs in order to create a bespoke massage. Appointments generally last 60 or 90 minutes.

  • We recommend that you wear loose, comfortable clothing which will be easy to change in and out of. Post-treatment, we recommend that you permit rest; a feeling of drowsiness and deep relaxation is common. Drink plenty of water to aid the body in flushing out toxins released during treatment. Hydration will also help reduce the likelihood of aches, pains or headaches post-massage. It is not advisable to follow deep tissue massage with weight training due to potential aggravation to tissue remodelling and healing stimulated by deep tissue treatment.

  • This depends on the nature of your issue and your response to treatment. Some may require weekly or fortnightly follow-ups, others might require maintenance on a monthly or ‘now-and-again’ basis.
